The bus is South Bends' main offer in public transportation. Operated by TRANSPO, buses run all over the cities of South Bend and Mishawaka and its neighborhoods. Buses run every half hour or every hour depending on the route and the time of the day. The service begins in almost all routes at 5:15 am and the last one stars around 9:00 pm. On Saturday, buses have limited runs, and the frequency is reduced. They do not run at all on Sundays.

For details about routes and schedules, check out their website at http://www.sbtranspo.com. From the website, you can download the Riders's Guide with all the routes. You can also obtain it on the bus and at South Street Station. A nice feature of the website: it has a version in Spanish.

Adults pay U$1.00 per one way trip, this includes a transfer if a second bus is needed to reach your destination. Children 4 and under travel free and senior citizens and disabled passengers pay U$0.50. A good deal is to buy a 31 day pass that costs U$35 and U$30 for students.
