The Indianapolis Artsgarden offers free performing arts and visual art throughout the year. The beautiful domed glass room is suspended over the intersection of Washington and Illinois and attached to Circle Centre mall in Indianapolis.

And during February, Art & Soul 2010 will feature all kinds of free performances highlighting talented African-American artists.

Along with performances by Gregg Bacon, Brenda Williams, Asante Children’s Theatre and others, Art & Soul will also showcase four talented artists.  They include soul singer Bashiri Asad, opera singer Shederick Whipple, mixed media visual artist LaShawnda Crowe-Storm and poetry and music collaboration of the performing group F!ghting Words an’NEM.

It’s all part of the Arts Council of Indianapolis’ 14th annual celebration of African-American art and artists in Indiana.
