For the last 14 years, Marietta, Georgia has been transforming Marietta Square (for a day), into the Marietta Antique Steet Festival. Recently awarded the Georgia Magazine Readers Choice Award for having the best antique shopping in the state, its no wonder the festival is helped here. Be prepared to feast your eyes on the articles of over 100 antique vendors. Tours and carriage rides are also available.
If you are an iron pig (Harley motorcycle) fan, put on your leathers and vroom to Marietta in September for the 16th Annual Shelby Ride through Cobb County, followed by an auction, door prizes, and other activities. The ride is sponsored by the Marietta Iron Pigs. Following this ride is another, the Leader of the Pack Motorcycle Ride, for the benefit of the Atlanta Humane Society, this one sponsored by the Atlanta Humane Society. The 30th Annual Harvest Square takes place at the end of October for two days at Glover Park near Marietta Square, with 120 exhibitors of local arts and crafts. Along this line, the (almost as old) 26th Annual Apple Annie Crafts and Arts Show happens the first week in December.
