As the center of Georgia's wine country, don't leave Dahlonega without visiting one of its prestigious wineries. You won't only buy some of Georgia's best wine but you will also enjoy special events organized by the wineries.

Drive five miles north of Dahlonega downtown to Wolf Mountain Vineyard and buy some excellent handcrafted wine produced with Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Morvedre and Touriga grapes. Coming from such a manicured crop, wines are handcrafted with extreme  care and delicacy. Some of the varieties some of which have also received awards are: Instinct (Best in Category for blended reds at the Vinifera Winegrower's Competition), Plenitude ( a blend of Chardonnay and Seyval Blanc and Vidal Blanc), Chanteloup( a dry white wine blending Chardonnays and Viognier) and dry and redwines such as Sunset Rose, Coupage and Claret. Every month, the vineyard hosts festivals and concerts. In November, Wolf Mountain Vineyards organizes the Wild Game, Mushroom and Red Wine Festival. Check the vineyard's website at http://www.wolfmountainvineyards.com for un updated calendar of events.

Three Sisters is Dahlonega's first family vineyard. The vineyard includes one of the finest plantations in the area with Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Touriga and Chardonnay. The winery initiated production in 2000 using European wine making traditions and state of the art techonology. Enjoy the music shows at the vineyard, some of the artists featured include Appalachian St. Andrew's Society Pipe Band, Julia Carroll, L.D. and Marty Nix, Outside Agitators and Gravy, Rising Appalachia and Route 66 among other bands. The Vineyard also hosts monthly wine dinners, tasting tours and the annual Georgia Wine Country Festival in June.
