Pompano Beach itself is not known for extensive nightlife; it does offer several bars and pubs, many of which are operated as part of restaurants and hotels.  Or, share a tasty brew with family and friends while watching sports videos or your favorite games at several of the town’s popular sports bars.

However, because of its close proximity to Fort Lauderdale (approximately 11 miles away) and other resorts along Florida's Gold Coast, visitors staying in Pompano Beach will often take the short drive to Lauderdale and other nearby towns for late night fun.

Fort Lauderdale is where the night comes alive with its many glittering outdoor cafes, comedy clubs, jazz bars and discos.  Depending on your taste and style, there is something for everyone in the Pompano-Fort Lauderdale area.  Do your tastes run to country and western?  Head over to The Round Up , especially on Tuesday nights for swing dancing and free lessons.  If jazz is more your style, there are several great clubs from which to choose: Harrison Street Sushi Jazz , where jazz rules every Friday and Saturday night; the Jazziz Bistro , featuring  nightly shows; and O'Hara's Jazz Café , with its “Old Chicago” ambiance featuring live jazz and blues every night.

If you’d rather get up and tear up the floor, the Pompano area offers a swinging good time at Club Mirage , which features top 40 tunes every Friday and Saturday. For a more upscale experience, visit the Blue Martini with live music every night and a late-nite DJ.

Lauderale’s Riverwalk Arts and Entertainment complex is the place to be for a late night out on the town.  The center-point of this entertainment district is the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and the Himmarshee Village , a thriving district that is filled with eateries, nightclubs, comedy spots and dance venues. Also, Las Olas Riverfront offers casual and fine dining along with bars and nightclubs in a charming setting on the waterfront.

For those who want to take a chance on lady luck, there are a few gambling venues close by.  Stop in at the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek , which offers more than 800 gaming machines, and live or tournament poker.  Catch a dog race or two and place your bet at Mardi Gras Racetrack & Gaming Center , or watch one of the world’s fastest games at Dania Jai Lai.  If the horses are more your speed, visit Gulfstream Park for some exciting horse-racing.
