Peak visitor season for the greater Naples area is January through April, with sunny skies and warm and mild temperatures.   By May and June, hotel room rates and golf greens fees drop dramatically, with reductions 20% to 50% off winter season rates.  

Yes, summer is rainy season in Florida, but typically in the greater Naples area there will be afternoon thunderstorms, so morning up until about three p.m. is still great for outdoor activities.  Fishing and boating are very popular summer activities.  Mornings are excellent for visiting any of the boardwalks in natural wildlife areas like Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary and Big Cypress National Preserve.  Watch for animals such as deer and black bear as well as many species of birds. 

Summer is value season, with hotel room rates and golf greens fees anywhere from 20% to 50% off peak winter season rates.  Stores, restaurants, art galleries and attractions for the most part are now open year round in Naples and on Marco Island.  Everglades City, which is dependent in part on stone crab season, is more seasonal.  Anglers still love to fish the Everglades during summer, when snook, tarpon and redfish are sportfishing favorites.  Overnight camping along the Wilderness Waterway is not as popular during the height of summer due to mosquitoes.
