Winter Park Ski Resort

This is, of course, the reason why people come to Winter Park in the first place. Begun in 1940 with just three ski runs, the resort now has 25 lifts servicing 26 trails covering 294 acres of land, making it one of the largest ski resorts in Colorado. Trails are available for every skill level, from beginner to expert. Over 359 inches of snow fall on the resort every year, guaranteeing that conditions are favorable for skiing. The resort's own snow-making abilities ensure that the park is open by Thanksgiving every year. An area called the Railyard features ramps and rails for all levels of snowboarders wishing to hone their shredding skills, and the resort's Superpipe is recognized as one of the best in the industry. Regularly scheduled events at the resort give you something to do while you're not hitting the slopes, and include scenic chair lift rides, snowshoe treks, and Snowcat tours. During the summer, activities include mountain biking, chair lift rides, a human maze and mini-golf.

Daily lift ticket rates begin at $45 during the early and late season, and increase to as much as $92 during peak holiday season. Discounts are available for children, and a number of different season passes are available. See the web site for more information.

The Resort has expended activities to highlight the summer months; mountain biking and summer activities.  Trestle Bike Park has two chairlifts; the Zephyr Express and the Olympia Express.  Both lifts transport riders and bikes to the top for some of the greatest gravity fed mounitan biking avaialble anywhere.  Winter Park Resort also has Summer Activiites-- a human maze, mini-golf, chairlift rides, trampolines with bungee harnesses, a Gyro-Xtreme and the longest Alpine Slide in Colorado.   Summer activity rates begin around $10 for one activity, one time.  Visit the website for full and half day rates, advance reservation discounts, etc.  Open 7 days a week from mid-June to Labor Day, and a few weekends after, Winter Park Resort is working hard to make fun times easy to find.
