Telluride provides great shopping opportunities of original art galleries, clothing and jewelry boutiques, top food markets, and of course, great sporting goods stores. Tourists love shopping in this resort town because it is full of one of a kind places rather than the same old chains you can find anywhere else. Plus, with a condensed and pedestrianized downtown, shopping is easy, stress free, and surrounded by beauty.

You will find many art galleries as you peruse the shopping streets of Telluride. To start your art journey, you may wish to head to the Telluride Gallery. Located right on Main Street, it's the area's oldest gallery and features all kinds of art; photography, sculptures, paintings and more.

A Telluride favorite, is Between-the-Covers which features books, maps, and a charming cafe that's been running since the 70s. If you're searching for books on the area, this is the place to go.

You will find countless stores catering to the sporting opportunities of the area. There isn't a bad shop in the bunch but if you are having trouble deciding which to visit, you'll benefit by heading to Telluride Sports, a large store that specializes in a great deal.

Since Telluride started as a mining town, you can bet on great jewelry. The shops aren't hard to find and are dotted throughout the historic downtown. A local favorite to check out is Dolce Jewels, the gorgeous handcrafted jewelry will have you burning holes in your pockets.

If you have a dog or cat, don't forget to stop by Mountain Tails, Telluride's only pet boutique, with gifts for your four legged friends and yourself as well!  Specializing in healthy treats and food, you'll be sure to find something....or your dog will!
