Hailed as one of the country's most accessible larger cities, Sacramento can be reached by air, rail, bus, car, or even boat! The city itself is no less maneuverable with many around-the-clock options for transportation.
At the airport, you can be shuttled to the rental car terminal, where your choice of rental car businesses await you - Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, or National. Taxi rates are $2.80 for the first mile and $2.40 for each additional mile, with a 20% discount for seniors and the military. There are also shuttles and bus service from the airport.
The best bet for travel in the city is usually a rental car for both convenience and leisure.
Old Sacramento has several parking facilities, including three garages at the Downtown Plaza, and two smaller ones on I Street and H Street, as well as a lot on I Street. More smaller lots dot the landscape near Crocker Park, on and around Second Street.
