The Sacramento International Airport lies just north of the city. As your plane begins its descent you’ll see the beautiful patchwork of the farmlands, the glistening blue ribbons of the area’s plentiful rivers and the outcropping of tall downtown buildings. At night, the blue tower of the Esquire Building let’s you know that you’ve arrived at California’s capital city.

Once on the ground, Sacramento welcomes you with open arms and, perhaps more importantly, plenty of easy options to get where you need to go. Taxis are plentiful, blue Super Shuttle vans are waiting at the door and buses come with regularity. Also many local hotels offer shuttle service to and from the airport.

It is just a 10 minute drive from the airport to downtown where many attractions and restaurants are within walking distance from a number of conveniently located hotels. Sacramento is serviced by an excellent public transportation system which features dozens of regular bus routes and an ever-expanding light rail system.

Once you’re in town, you can get wherever you want to be with great ease.   When leaving town, the airport offers over 150 daily flights including direct flights to many of North America ’s most popular destinations.
