While the area of Mendocino has been home to numerous films, including “The Summer of ‘42” and “East of Eden,” there is much to see throughout the year including musical shows, some opera and even a bit of the theater! 

The Footlight’s Little Theater in nearby Fort Bragg is home to the Footlights (of course), a comedy and melodrama group that inspires to the traditions of the Gay 90s. Fort Bragg is also home to the Gloriana Opera Company , which was founded in 1976. The company produces a number of music theater performances during the year. The Mendocino Theatre Company also offers a year-round calendar of players including traditional dramas and comedies, as well as more experimental and ‘avant garde’ productions.
