The Fresno area is very family-friendly offering many, many activites to choose from, depending on the interests of your family.  The Woodward Park area is a very nice place for a family picnic and they have over 7 miles of paved bike/walking/jogging trails for your family’s enjoyment. This is a great place to sit back and relax and bring some bread crumbs to feed the ducks that are floating in the pond here. Woodward Park is also home to  a local BMX track, a mountain Bike progression park, and some of the nicest BMX jumps around. If your family is into movies, there are several major movie complexes from which to choose.  The River Park’s, Edward’s Cinemas offers you a place to view movies, dine and shop.  The Elephant Bar, In-N-Out Burger, California Pizza Kitchen are several good options for families to dine. There is also an IMAX Theater which has recently re-opened in this same complex.

There is also the Chaffee Zoo which will provide your family with hours of entertainment.  In the summer months, the bird show is great fun to watch and is included with your admission price.  Also in this area is the Roding Park area with carnival rides, etc.  If you are visiting in the warm months of summer, check out the Wild Water Adventure Water Park out in the Clovis area.

There is also a Boomer’s Park in Fresno that will provide your family with hours of fun and entertainment.  

If you are looking for a place close by to ski or snowboard with your family, the Sierra Summit Resort is only a little over an hours drive from Fresno.  This quality ski/board resort is home to five fully developed runs.  You will have terrain parks available and also rails and jumps for practicing tricks.  Sierra Summit can also make snow on close to 50 percent of its resort.  Season passes are available and a great way to save money if you plan on visiting frequently and are at the best rates at the end of the ski/snowboard season, starting around the end of May.
