Los Angeles and Beverly Hills are synonimus with film. But, one of Beverly Hills (and Greater LA area) best hidden secrets is its vibrant theatre scene. A theater that you should check in town is Wilshire Theater. Located at 8440 Wilshire Blvd, it is a historical venue for the performing arts. Inaugurated in 1930, it was a movie theater for 20 years and some celebrities attended the premiere of their movies. Marilyn Monroe attended the premiere of How to Marry a Millonaire in 1953; Elvis Presley, Cesar Romero and Ronald Reagan also attended a special screening of G.I Blues here.

Nowadays, it is only a theater venue. One of the latest greatest hits presented on its stage is Billy Crystal’s 700 Sundays, a play that takes the audience to a journey through the actor's life. Other recent shows are: Stomp and Chris Botti‘s recital of jazz and blues.

It is highly recommended that you buy the tickets in advance as the shows fill up quickly. You can buy the tickets online at http://www.wilshiretheatretickets.org/ . There you can also check the updated Schedule of shows and events.
