The Berkeley Marina, which is one of the largest urban greenspaces in the San Francisco Bay Area, provides panoramic views of the region's three main bridges (Golden Gate, Bay, and Richmond), Alcatraz, Angel Island, and the San Francisco skyline. In addition to 975 boat slips, the Marina is home to Cesar Chavez Park, a city-owned 90-acre park with over 17 acres dedicated to an off-leash dog area; Eastshore State Park, a restored 72-acre meadow with trails and excellent bird watching; and, the Berkeley Pier, a half-mile paved promenade on the Bay providing access for walkers and fishermen. For fine dining, Skate's and Hs. Lordship's are two restaurants with strong local followings. For sandwiches, fresh crab, and picnic items, the Sea Breeze Market is a popular option. The only lodging is the Doubletree Hotel & Executive Meeting Center. Many sportsfishing boats provide opportunties for single or multi-day trips in pursuit of  salmon, sea bass, halibut, sturgeon, tuna, and dungeness crab. OCSC Sailing, the country's largest single location sailing school, offers a wide range of U.S. Sailing-certified sailing course for beginners to advanced sailors as well as opportunities to charter 24' to 105' sailboats.
