You can get to Los Mochis thru the Copper canion Chihuahua Pacifico train (that is already a great trip by it self!), Los Mochis is a very humid city, during the months of June and October it gets extremely hot and humid, Go during the months of November thru May, the weather is really nice, Los Mochis does not have winter some people say, some times a sweater is enough.
Los Mochis has the best restaurants, anywhere you go you would LOVE the food they serve. If you want to try something different, try our regional food: Tacos, Gorditas, Flautas, Tostadas, Pozole.....The way Los Mochis Fix those plates are unique in the country, you will really taste something new and really delicious!!!....you really could gain a cople of pounds if you get taste everything.....
In Los Mochis there are a couple of places that may be worthy to visit: Parque Sinaloa (thats the only one I can think of!).... but there is Topolobampo Bay is 15 minutes away from Los Mochis, Topolampo is a very escenary little town in a hill, you can have trips by boat in the bay, you could see dophins around you.
There is Maviry Beach, it's about 20 minutes away from Los Mochis, there you will find restaurants by the sea(lots of them), most of them fix seafood, ask for Pescado Sarandeado, Camarones Ahogados, Ceviche .....there are plenty of different plates to chose from and the best part is that its fresh sea food.
Also you can visit Ahome town. This is like 35 minutes away from Los Mochis and it is considered a Colonial City.
A week is enough to see everything in Los Mochis.
