Buenos Aires is a city of festivals!  Three major ones include the Feria de Mataderos , San Telmo and Recoleta.  All three offer a combination of entertainment, food and crafts.  Which one is better? Well, it all depends on what you are looking for.

The favorite seems to be the Feria de Mataderos with its gaucho performances, folk dancing in the street,  local foods and crafts.  The crafts at this fair seem to be of higher quality than at others, and prices are better, too.  It is a nice combination of entertainment, food and crafts and seems less touristy than San Telmo.

Feria de Mataderos

San Telmo is another popular festival that features antique markets, tango dancing and other performers.  In fact, it’s the dancers, musicians, human statues and the people watching in general that are the main attraftions.

Recoleta’s fair features top quality crafts.  Since the Recoleta fair is only about five minutes away from San Telmo, you can take in more than one fair in a day.
