The South African Jewish Museum provides its visitors with a chance to learn about the history of Jews in the country: why they came to South Africa, how they survived and prospered, and how the community responded to apartheid and other issues. In addition to interesting artifacts there are many interactive exhibits, videos, and a recreation of an Eastern European shtetl or village. It is adjoining the Holocaust Centre in Hatfield Street Gardens. At the moment until June there is an exhibition on the "Jews of Muizemberg".
