The main attraction of the Kruger National Park is of course its wildlife, so most people spend their time game viewing, bird-watching or just enjoying the beauty and tranquility of the bush.

You can do game drives in your own vehicle, or on an open safari vehicle with a registered tour operator.  There are a large number of tarmac and dirt roads which enables you to explore and see the animals for yourself.  Drive slowly and you will experience some surprising sights.

The Kruger Park itself offers morning and evening game drives on open safari trucks. The night drives are popular because only the Kruger Park's vehicles are allowed to do game drives after dark, and you stand a chance of spotting elusive nocturnal animals like leopard, lions and hyenas with the help of powerful spotlights. These drives are available from most camps on a daily basis.

From most of the bigger camps it is also possible to a guided morning bush walk with an armed ranger. This will give you the opportunity to track and find wildlife on foot and explore the smaller wonders of the wild. Multi-day hiking trails or wilderness trails can be done by advance booking.

Other activities differ from camp to camp. Most camps have a viewing or lookout area over a river or waterhole, where you can laze away the midday hours and look for elephants, hippos, giraffe and other wild animals that may be visible at the river.

Some camps like Skukuza and Letaba have interesting museums that you can browse through, and just about all camps have well-stocked curio shop.

Most larger camps have an open air theatre where wildlife documentaries are shown in the evenings.

Most of the larger camps also have a swimming pool.

Olifants camp offers a mountain bike trail through the bush (morning or full day).

In the surrounding areas outside the Kruger Park, all kinds of activities are possible including hot air balloon flights, elephant back safaris, white water rafting, horse back riding, various adventure activities, fishing trips, and much more.  The "bush braii" is a very special experience -- eating a meal at a location away from the camp with only the stars and animal noises as a backdrop.
