The little nightlife that does exist is mostly at the resort hotels. Tahitian bands and dance shows are featured every few nights. If yours isn’t offering one, you can pay a fee to watch the show over at Club Med.

There is also La Recife Discotheque, less than a mile north of Vaitape just past the Bora Bora Yacht Club. The island’s one nightclub is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 p.m. until 3 a.m. or later. This is a popular spot for the young locals, where heavy drinking and dancing go on to the sounds of hip-hop, reggae, and funk.
