Should your driving around Moorea takes you by the airport area of Temae, driving towards the Sofitel,  just before the hill  by the old post office (with the telephone booth operated by prepaid cards) you will see on the left a little bridge going on a crushed coral road. at this intersection, especially during the week end, you will find the Rotisserie chicken van + sometimes a couple of other merchants for food.

Follow the wood sign " Jeweller"  for about 1/2 a mile. Pass the public beach of Temae . Once in sight of the end of the runway, you will enter a long driveway to " Kerebel Golden nugget " Pearl and Art Gallery. You will be welcomed in a surreal surrounding by the sound of the ocean. This corner of Moorea is not sheltered by a lagoon. The Motu temae  is the coral reef ( with in season the frequent visit of the humpback whales just  a few yards away from the water edge).

Alain and Joselyne Kerebel create by hand each of their unique art creation. Their prices do vary from the simple setting to the more elaborate pieces with their unmistakable touch. The back of the shop is Alain's Art gallery. An Eclectic collection of paintings from the tahitian  to Aztec via touches of African influences. There again not your usual  vacation art gallery.

Should you be in the market for that elusive perfect souvenir that will bring you back in dreams to the island. make sure to pay a visit there before you buy.
