Playa Hermosa is a beautiful strip of beach that runs about 2 kilometers long. Since it is a beach and the best thing to do there is lay out and soak up the sun and go swimming, the best time to go is when it is warm. Luckily, Costa Rica is in Central America, and so it is generally always warm, especially on the beaches. During the summer, the temperatures can get extremely hot and overbearing, and this often turns away many visitors who find it too much to deal with. A great number of tourists visit Play Hermosa during the winter months. If you're coming from somewhere in the United States, the warm temperatures of Playa Hermosa are a welcome relief, and they are usually hovering between the low 70's to high 80's. The nice thing about Playa Hermosa is that it never gets extremely crowded or condensed. Because of this, there is no specific time that can be advised to visit, because anytime you go will generally be not too crowded. However, if you are planning a trip during times of higher frequency of travel, such as Christmas break, spring break, or summer vacations, you should expect a bit more traffic than usual.
