The great  Chairman Mao was born in this Province with an amazing nature,colorful custom,mysterious history - Hunan province. It  is located in the south of the second largest freshwater lake of China, Dongting lake, which is a branch to Yangzi river. Its name, Hunan, means the south of lake and its neighbor, Hubei, means the north of lake.

Hunan has 13 cities and 1 ethinic area, which includes: Changsha city (the capital),  Yueyang, Zhuzhou, Xiangtan, Yiyang, Changde, Shaoyang, Loudi, Yongzhou, Huaihua, Hengyang, Chenzhou, Zhangjiajie, and Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Minority Autonomous prefecture . The total population is 68.5 million and more than 10 % of which are minority people such as Tujia, Miao, Yao, Dong, Bai Natinalities primarily. Hunan belongs to the subtropical humid monsoon climate bearing obvious features of continental climate and has the average annual temperature of 16 to 18 degree centigrade  which ammenable to tourists all the year round.

 Its top attractions are: Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Area (World Heritage Site), Yueyang Pavilion, Fenghuang Ancient Town, Hengshan Mountain, Shaoshan (the village where Mao Zedong was born).
