Go see the Cathedral downtown and one of the parks at the end of Avenida Francisco Gilcerio Francisco Gilcerio. If you ride the bus from Sao Paulo airports, it arrives at the end of this street across from this park. Easy access to Ibis Hotel where the people are friendly even if you just speak English.
Bus stop by the park.
Make sure to visit the Bosque dos Jequitibas! It is a good place to get away from the heat of the City. A nice place to walk !
Go meet Edson and buy some native art.
Of course, go to Dom Pedro Mall for feijoada and if you like to dance, Golds Bar is there. Biggest shopping mall in Latin America! There is a good Rodizio there too. Lots of places to get friends souvenirs!! FUN place!!
There is another mall in the city that is fun as well. Inca Goddess ladies, like the one on the left here, are there to make you smile and laugh once you get to know them.
Habib's is good Kibe but the best is at Papai Salim. Make sure to purchase a bottle of "Istambul Pimentine" to take home!
Go meet the original drummer for "Menudo" at Carabean Bar. Small but great place to dance!!
Agua Doce is a fun little bar where the locals make you feel like a "lucky guy!" There is no hurry! Stay there until 5:30AM and there is never any rush by the owner for anyone to leave. There were 3 left in there for over an hour and when leaving, the owner asked all to come back soon and he meant it.
Plan to spend at least 2 weeks so you don't have to rush around to see everything. Go to Americana, if you have time, and see the Cathedral there, WOW!!! You will be moved.
