Throughout the year, visitors to Amarillo have various opportunities to attend both events and festivals, some of them being held locally, and others in areas outside of the city.  

            The Tri State Fair and Rodeo is one of the largest events held in Amarillo , and is this year celebrating its 81st anniversary between the 15th and the 23rd of September.  This event is being held at the Tri State Fairgrounds , and every year attracts thousands of spectators from all over the country. Last year, a total of 36 states had representatives participating in the week of activities.  The PRCA Rodeo is one of the main attractions of this event, and admission to the rink is free with the general admission fair ticket.  Other attractions of this fair include livestock shows, roping exhibitions, and a petting zoo.

            New Years is a fun time to be in Amarillo .  The weather is warm enough for people to fill the streets of town and watch the great fireworks show put on by the city.
