There are several dozen areas for shopping in Yokohama, as would be expected of a city with a population of over three million.  Below is a list of but a few of the complexes and neighborhoods worth visiting for culture and atmosphere, not to mention for food purchases, souvenirs, mementos, and practical buys.

Queen’s Square is a shopping complex of unique boutiques, department stores, specialty shops, exquisite restaurants, and the Pan Pacific Hotel Yokohama .  The nearby Red Brick Warehouse and Park contain about thirty shops as well, plus a beer garden and some performing arts venues.

In front of the Minato Mirai 21 neighborhood’s Sakuragi-cho Station lies a consumer cornucopia of stores and restaurants, while more American establishments such as the Sports Authority can be found at the Yokohama Jack Mall.

The Cross Gate contains not only shops and dining, but an amusement park, wedding hall, and cinema.

For great street shopping, run down the retail on Motomachi for some fun apparel and souvenir grabs.

In the Yokohama Station area, malls and shopping areas abound, including an enormous underground mall called the Diamond and a place known as Sotetsu Joinus, a big-time fashion center.  Other area stores worth checking out include the Yokohama Takashimaya department store and the Yokohama Sogo department store.

Do not forget to stop by the Chinatown area for a whole other dense array of shopping diversity.
