Jerba's climate is relatively mild compared to the rest of Tunisia due to its southerly latitude. The island is warm year-round, but not blisteringly hot. The warmest months are July and August, when average highs are in the upper 90s, and lows are in the lower 70s. The coldest months are December through February, when average highs are in the lower 60s, and lows are in the lower 50s. Overcast days are rare, and there will almost never be two days in a row when the sun is not shining. Rain is occasional, with an average of 62 days out of the year showing some precipitation, mostly in the winter. Summers are notoriously dry.

    Tourist season for Jerba are the summer months of July and August, when the island is more hospitable than other regions in the country. During this time, rates for everything from flights to hotel rooms can be more expensive. Consider going a month or two before and after to see reductions in prices. If you go during the winter, when temperatures are still warm, you can find some good deals.
