If you are looking for a Hurghada-specific book, the Hurghada Diving Guide by Geiorgio Mesturini and Massimo Bicciato might be something of interest.   Given that diving is one of the most popular things to do in Hurghada, having a book that outlines the best places to dive can’t hurt.

More broadly, it might be a good idea to pick up a travel guide of some sort.   They usually come with a little language guide to help you learn some of the local language.  Study up, as it is always fun to try out what you’ve learned.

When a country has a history of over 5,000 years, there are bound to be interesting or thick (or hopefully both) books on the subject.   Tales of Ancient Egypt by Roger Lancelyn Green might be worth a try, as might The Oxford History of Ancient Egypt by Ian Shaw.

If you are going to be spending any time in Cairo, don’t forget to check out the Cairo recommended reading.
