One of the most beloved stops for breakfast is Angelo's Restaurant, located on Geddes just north of Huron. Angelo's is known for it's huge pieces of French toast and fresh-baked raisin bread, which are matched in size and quality by other fantastic breakfast dishes including omelettes and pancakes. The atmosphere here is casual, and there are families, friends, and lone students and professors enjoying a morning meeting, breakfast with friends, or a relaxed read of the newspaper. Prime seating on a small glass patio is available, with most guests dining in the inside rooms with a view of the kitchen "pickup" bar. The restaurant is diner-style, but is equal parts classy and clean. Most dishes are big enough to split. Parking is sometimes a problem, since the lot is small. Lines after Sunday church are enormous, so hitting up the restaurant early or late on the weekends will bring about shorter wait times. They also serve lunch and generally almost always close for the month of August - but they do open in time for school.
Must Order dish: Full order of Deep Fried French Toast with their fresh-baked raisin bread - be hungry, this is rich and a lot of food. You can order a half size if you must - but it tastes just as good re-heated.
Another place to consider is Zingerman's Delicatessen which offers a warm atmosphere for its diners. If you're really just looking for a greasy spoon type place, then Fleetwood Diner is your answer.
