The Parque de las Leyendas (Zoo) houses within its collection 2100 animals of 268 different species. Of those, 87 are mammals, 103 birds, 32 are reptiles, 42 are fish, and 4 are amphibious. The animals are distributed according to the three different natural regions of Peru: Costa (Coast), Sierra (Highlands), and Selva (Jungle).
