Public transportation options from Singapore's Changi International Airport

1. Taxi

Perhaps the fastest and most convenient way to travel. At all 3 terminals, you will find a taxi rank, where fully licensed taxis will take you anywhere. In Singapore, all taxis run to a meter. At the airport, you will see a big official sign saying "Fare to city approx S$15". There could be some surcharges on top of your fare including midnight-6am surchage (add 50%), airport surcharge (S$3 weekdays, S$5 weekends). Also the passenger will have any road toll charges added to the fare (e.g. those entering the city during office hours). Just note that there are many officially licensed taxi companies in Singapore, and your taxis might be blue, black, grey, white, cream, yellow, red, or green in colour...

 2. Limo

Mercedes E-class taxis. Details here... http://www.limo.com.sg/services/airpo... #

 3. Minivan taxi or shuttle to town hotels

Seats up to 6 adults. Details here... http://www.limo.com.sg/maxicab.htm

4. MRT (Mass Rapid Transit)

This is the public electric train system, partially overground and some underground. Changi airport has a station located at Terminal 2. This is a safe, cheap and convenient way to travel into town. Changi airport is on the East-West line, while getting to Orchard Station requires a platform change. See map details here... http://www.transitlink.com.sg/images/...

Travel from airport to City Hall (suntec area) is about 30 minutes, while to Orchard is about 45 minutes. Only one minor issue, tickets sales are cash (local currency) only. A single trip for one person to City Hall is below S$2, plus additional S$1 refundable deposit.

Trains run from 6am to midnight.

 5. Public bus

There are public buses that depart from Changi Airport to various places. These are airconditioned. You need to however pay exact fare, as there is no change given. Perhaps the most useful bus for tourists would be #36, which goes to Suntec and on to Orchard road. Fares should be under S$2 per person. Buses leave from terminal 2, basement 2.
