Plane from Manila to Kalibo airport or Caticlan airport which is near the jettyport. From Kalibo airport, 1 and a half by bus to the jettyport at Caticlan, then a pumpboat ride to the island. Boat ride from Manila to Jettyport or Dumaguit is also possible.


Panglao Island

Calicoan Island

Airport: Tacloban

Seaport: Tacloban

Plane from Manila to Tacloban airport. From Tacloban airport, 2 hours ride buy bus to Guiuan, Eastern Samar onto the island. There is no boat ride from Manila to Tacloban since this has been canceled long ago. Buses straight from Manila ply the Manila-Tacloban route or Manila-Borongan route. Borongan is next to Guiuan.

Manila to Tacloban City, Leyte  

Two airlines, Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific operate regularly from Manila to Tacloban City, the capital of Leyte. Buses ply the Manila - Maharlika Highway route to Eastern Visayas. Available land transportation vehicles are cars, vans, jeepneys, tricycles and buses.   

Tacloban City to Bato, Leyte

A chartered airconditioned van will take you to Bato, Leyte, located off the towns of Inopacan and Hindang, Leyte; about 3 hours ride from Tacloban City.

Cebu to Bato, Leyte 

A fastcraft can take you to Bato, Leyte from the port of Cebu; about 2 hours ride. 

Explore four lovely islets named Himokilan, Digyo, Apid and Mahaba, bordered by white sands and beautiful corrals and get the chance to see the one-of-a-kind “Coconut Crabs” found in one of the islets. Great sites for swimming, snorkeling and diving.  

 



Canigao Island and the Tuod Islet of Bato, Leyte
