Very useful publications are That's Beijing, City Weekend and Beijing This Month which are printed fortnightly or monthly. They include listings on what to do, where to go eat, see a movie and other entertainment and cultural events etc.  Mainly targeted at the expat community they are valuable English language sources of information for the tourist. They can be picked up for free in most of the advertisers outlets, especially  restaurants. Look out for them!
