The David Sheldrick Elephant Orphange was made famous by the BBC's Elephant Diaries and you can visit them anyday between 11am and 12 noon when the Nursery Elephants come in for their daily mudbath. They are based in Nairobi near the Nairobi National Park. Their website is http://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/ where they have lots of information on all their orphaned Elephants both past and present and fantastic sucess stories, such as that of Dika http://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org...  who was orphaned at 3 months of age in 1988 when his entire family was killed. I challenge anyone not to have a tear in their eye when they read his wonderfully scripted story.

Giraffe Manor is about 8 miles outside of downtown Nairobi and at the Giraffe Centre you have the chance to get up close and personal with the Giraffes and even feed them. Their website is http://www.giraffemanor.com/. It is a small hotel and it is the only place in the world where you can feed and photograph the giraffe over your breakfast table and at the front door, and even from a bedroom window!! have a look at some of the pictures they are amazing!
