There are quite a few well regarded Thai cooking classes available in Chiang Mai - these are just a few.

Most day classes are about 4-6 hours in length, running from 9am to 4pm and cost 800฿ - 1,800฿. They will normally include collection from your accommodation and a trip to the market where ingredients are explained and purchased. Most if not all cooking classes are family (child) friendly. Akha Thai Cooking School
Akha Thai cooking school is the first and only cookery school in Thailand and Chiang Mai where you can learn how to prepare delicious Akha hill tribe food beside the thai food, located in old city of Chiang Mai. It is founded 2015 and run by Akha people. Teacher is Akha Thai woman who speaks fluent english and had a long experience in teaching. Each of their students will get a unique gift made by Akha people, one cook book and some dry thai herbs to bring back home. A Lot of Thai Home Cooking Class
have small intimate classes. Yui is an instructor and owner; Kwan, her husband, designed a nice cook book. She has a unique style of teaching and is a highly experienced Thai cook. They have a lovely VW 1974 van which can collect you from your accommodation and deliver you to their house where the courses have been run since 2001.

Benny's Home Cooking Chiang Mai

There is Home and Organic garden concept. Very nice atmosphere surrounded with rice field. There are many plants that they grow in the organic garden which you can pick the fresh one to your favorite dishes. Benny is an instructor and owner with her partner Nan. They run cooking school with their family. It is so nice that you able cook with her family. Benny is informative and knowlegeable and she is quite well known in cooking school as you can easily find her name on the internet. You can do the best Thai dishes with her although you are not good in cooking. Her class absolutely welcome a kid or a family group. Find her you will not disappoint as this is the hightlight one activities in Chiang Mai.

Basil Thai Cookery School: The class is limited to only 6 people per class (smallest class in Chiang Mai) you will have plenty of time to get intouch with  Boom the owner and instructor. You will have to decide what to learn for 7 dishes. You will learn Thai cooking from the scratch and will have to eat all the dishes you've cook (or take it back home).

The Chilli Club Cooking Academy at Eagle House 2:  Classes are small, and…there is only one class going on at a time. At other schools, several classes are taught at the same time with a lot of extra people at the site.  Students have a wide variety from which to choose their several dishes to cook. Once the dishes are chosen, the instructor, Mr. Sutt, leads everyone to the market.  The class is not just about cooking. It is about Thai style and about presentation, as well.  Learn how to make a tomato rose and cucumber leaves with which to decorate the plate. At the end of the class, get presented with a beautiful, professional cookbook, including the recipes for  all the  dishes.

Smart Cook Thai Cookery School They will pick you up at your hotel, then you go for a 20 minute train ride and then ride bicycles for about 2 miles to the school.  There is a garden in the back and the instructor, Surakarn Sithirak, takes you into the garden and teaches you how to pick out they best vegetables and herbs. You have a choice of several different menus to choose from and when the day is done you get a certificate and a cookbook with all the recipes that they use at the school.
