When travelers have had their fill of Pokhara (or perhaps when they just want to escape the rainy weather for a bit) they can head out to numerous Nepalese destinations which offer a different perspective on the culture of the area.

Travelers who are more interested in seeing quieter places than in heading out to the cities should consider visiting either Baglung (which is located to the west) or Tansen (which is located to the south).  Tansen is 123 kms from Pokhara and a 6 hour bus ride. These are both small towns where quiet communities are living peaceful lives.   Baglung is the closer of the two locations, by about fifty kilometers but both can be easily reached by bus.

Visitors interested in a really unique day trip experience should head to Royal Chitwan National Park .   It is located approximately one hundred and thirty kilometers from Pokhara and can be reached by bus or by plane.   Jungle safaris are available in the area.

 October to Mid of the December and February to Mid of May  weather will be better so travellers can hike surrounding pokhara valley . Some of the suggested visiting places are ;

  1. Sarangkot (2-4 hours )
  2. Dhampus (4-7 hours )
  3. world peace stupa(3-4 hours.)
  4. Thulakot to Begnas lake (5-7 hours )
  5. Circuit the Fewa lake (7-8 hours)
Summer time June -July -August are rainny season in Nepal so travellers can enjoy with boating and rest in pokhara .
