British Airways, South African Air, and Air Zimbabwe have flights from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls Airport .  If one is traveling around Zimbabwe, Air Zim also has flights between Victoria Falls Airport and other destinations within Zimbabwe.  The airport is on the outskirts of the town a few kms away.  The town is small and easily walkable - the Falls are about 5 mins down the road towards the border with Zambia.  It's US $20 to enter the Falls national park with up close views of the Zim side.  Good views also from the bridge over the Batoka Gorge, i.e. between the Zim and Zambian immigration posts.

One way to reach Victoria falls is via car. The roads within Zimbabwe are pretty good. Thus, the most direct way to Victoria Falls overland is from Bulawayo which is the second-largest city in the country,  or from Livingstone across the border in Zambia. However, one can also travel to the falls from Namibia or Botswana.

There is a direct train route between Victoria Falls and Bulawayo. The train runs every night, departs Victoria Falls at 7pm, stopping at Hwange and getting into Bulawayo around 6am.  In addition, the train can be quaint and a good way to see the scenery.   In fact, the train cars are from the 1950s and have quite some ambience on their own.   They are pretty rundown from lack of money for maintenance and you are best off hiring the whole first class compartment  (i.e. two seats) to yourself.
