Tunisia in the summer is hot and sunny and whilst it is located in North Africa and appears in most travel brochures as a winter sun destination. This is somewhat optimistic as it can be very cold and windy between November and May. The reason Tunisia is featured is that the hotel rates are often less than half than the summer rates and the hotels are looking for occupancy to keep operating. They can often make more revenue from the bar than the room price per guest!

Beware that the hotels are built for the often scorching heats of the summer therefore the winter heating can be poor.

Choose a hotel with plenty of indoor activities and an indoor heated pool.

On the plus side, if you do not like the sun, the winter is an ideal time to explore this fascinating country.
