Weather in Morocco varies from season to season. The summer months are exceedingly hot during. So hot, in fact, that the locals are known to grab a pillow and blanket and catch their zzzz’s right on the beach. Very small amounts of rain do fall between November and March, but the climate is generally dry. Actually there is so little rain that some of the more modest homes have just ross-hatched grates on top, instead of a fully-enclosed roof. During the winter, temperatures cool off significantly, and even dip down to freezing during some nights. Overall, the average annual temperature in Tangiers is 66 degrees Fahrenheit.

The best time to visit is during the late spring and early summer. This is when you can be assured of pleasant, warm temperatures during the day and cooler refreshing nights. The peak tourist season is actually July and August. During these months the combination of crowds and sweltering temperatures can be less than enjoyable. If you must travel during this time, make your hotel reservations farther in advance to guarantee a room.
