There are many festivals and events celebrated throughout the year in Casablanca, most of which are celebrated throughout all of Morocco.

An event that is unique to Casablanca is the Casablanca Festival , which was held for the first time in 2005.  Because of its popularity, it will return in 2006 with thoughts of making this an annual event.   This event, which will have music concerts, film showings, street theater, art exhibitions and more, will be held between the 15th and 22nd of July.

The Islamic New Year (Fatih Mouharam) is celebrated in the middle of March throughout the country.  Because the Western and Islamic calendars are different, the date changes yearly.

An interesting event held every year in May is the “Mousseum of Sidi Mohammed Ma al-Ainin”, during which time tribes of nomads who wander the Sahara (known to some as the “Blue People”) gather and sell traditional clothing.
