There are 2 ways of getting to this beach - the best way is to take the Kalihiwai Rd. that is just past Banana Joe's, as you head north. This road will take you to the main beach, where there is lots of parking under the ironwood trees. The other Kalihiwai Rd, which is also the turn off to Anini Beach, will take you to a smaller parking area across the river from the beach. People must wade across the river to get to the beach (apprx. chest deep to get across.)
The waterfall on the side of the road when heading to Princeville, flows into the river the meets up with this beach. The beach is in a beautiful cove, with soft sand and waves that aren't too big, but sufficient for boogie boarding . The river is calm and there are 2 rope swings in the river that kids enjoy.
It is very easy to find parking, and the ironwood trees provide shade for those who don't want to bask in the sun.
