Not too many wall street deals get sealed on the Peninsula, but a few restaurants have what it takes to impress a colleague or client: the Inn at Roberts Grove, Turtle Inn, the Placencia Hotel, and probably the new restaurant at Bella Maya have the facilities to make an impression.

Turtle Inn's mostly-Italian menu is very consistent and they boast only using fresh-never-frozen fish. The service is aloof but competent. Roberts Grove has so many repeat customers and Belizean business friends that it can seem a little clubby - but in a good way. And the food is consistent. Up the road at the Placencia Hotel, their large dining room is rarely busy so you have a lot of privacy for confidential conversations. Same with Bella Maya, which has a very impressive facility but limited hours and menu selections, at least so far.

For business lunches or dinners on a more casual scale where the food is more impressive than the ambience, try Wendy's in the Village or the Bistro at Maya Beach Hotel. You'll always run into local movers and shakers at those places.
