The home to numerous native American tribes, the site of the first atomic bomb test and just a plain big area with lots to do! That and much more is what make up New Mexico! Calling itself the land of enchantment, it is a state of diverse cultures, a rich history, a place of fantastic food and plenty of outdoors that include mountains, deserts, forests, lakes and much more. The official New Mexico Tourism Department Web site offers plenty of information on this piece of the American South West.

There is a guide to festivals, a calendar of seasonal events and even live chat with someone from the New Mexico Visitors Center.

A series of helpful brochures are published and these can be downloaded for free from the well-organized Web site, which offers information in English, as well as French, German, Italian, Portuguese and of course Spanish. The site also provides a suggested book list for visitors. Additionally maps are provided for the roads of New Mexico as well as state parks to visits.
