Death Valley is one of the hottest places on earth in the summer, so if you are interested in travelling around California in a rental RV, be aware that some restrictions apply. Policies vary by rental company.

CruiseAmerica - As of 2012, CruiseAmerica has no restrictions about driving one of their RV units through DV in the summer.  They do advise renters to carry plenty of water, and to expect a longer response time in the event of a breakdown.

El Monte RV - Rental RV units are not permitted in DV during the months of July and August.

Road Bear - Rental RV units are not permitted in DV from June 15th through September 15th.

Motoris - Rental RV units are not permited in DV from June 15th through September 15th.

Additionally,  RV rental companies do not allow their rental units to be driven on dirt roads.
