Surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful forest lands; Cesky Krumlov is perfectly situated for outdoor activities. Cycling is a popular activity and Cesky Krumlov is a major stop along many of its popular Cycling Routes.
During the colder winter months, visitors to Cesky Krumlov can play in the snow filled playground of the Kramolin Ski Resort. This is a moderately-sized resort with six ski slopes, a snowboard park, and more than 35 km of cross country ski trails waiting to be explored.
With the many lakes around the city of Cesky Krumlov, there are plenty of water activities available for tourists. The fishing is great at Lake Lipno (actually a dam), where good-sized lunkers can be caught from the boat, or from the shore. Windsurfing and yachting are also popular. During the summer the Vltava River that surrounds Cesky Krumlov is full of canoes and rafts. Visitors can hire canoes and rafts from a variety of sources in the town (e.g. raft rental Expedicion), and have them transported to spots along the river. A river trip is a wonderful way to see the surrounding countryside. Or you can rent an inner tube from a bus, jump on it and go with the river flow just in the town centre.
At any time of year, local mountain Kleť (1084 meters above sea level) is a beatiful place to go. It takes you 2 hours to get on the top from Cesky Krumlov (map recommended) and it offers a magnificent view all over the region. You can even see the Alps if you're lucky. You can get here by foot or rent a bike. If you're going by foot, kick bike rental is possible for 10 km downhill ride.
