Queenstown has several bus companies that work throughout the entire city and into surrounding areas. Many of these bus companies work specifically with hotels and resorts, but they will usually pick anyone up as long as you are going on their route. You should try to be careful of what bus you are taking though. Several of these companies, such as The Shopper Bus and Arrow Express claim to be the public transportation for the city, but they are actually just private bus companies that run large routes in the area. Some of these bus companies are also just like our Greyhound and Trailways bus companies. You should be able to recognize which are the coach buses for distance travel, and which are just shuttle travel around the city. Though a lot of the buses come in different colors, the buses in yellow are generally the public transportation system buses that run throughout the city. The prices are the same no matter where you go in the city, and you can buy a ticket at any stand or station. You can also pay when you get on the bus. Queenstown also has train transportation. You can find several locations and stations throughout the city, and prices are the same no matter where you go.
