Throughout the year, visitors to Stavanger have numerous options for experiencing various unique events and festivals.
The Stavanger Humor Festival has been entertaining and amusing people every year for a long time. This event is held during a four day span in June (7th through the 10th in 2006), and over this time will bring people to Stavanger from all around the country. Over the course of the three days, spectators are given opportunities to witness various performances, watch parades, and even enter contests.
The West Coast Festival of New Music will celebrate its 7th anniversary between the 6th and 10th of September in 2006. The focus of this annual event is to spread the development of (what else) new music through the country of Norway. The styles of music at this festival are generally alternative and new. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time, or at the gates of various events.
The Sandnes Autumn Festival is a celebration of the fall season. The style of this event can best be compared to the German Oktoberfest. Throughout the day, festival goers are treated to live music, and good food, and plenty of drink.
