After you’ve taken in the sights of Kitzbühel consider a day trip or two to explore the other nearby towns and villages of the Tyrolean region. There are several scenic towns that offer diverse tastes of Western Austria, and as this area was part of Bavaria other traditions that are quite German.

The nearby town of Reith offers numerous trails to walk or cycle upon, as well as a world-class golf course. The quaint little town is a gem in the Alps, with a pace that is just a little bit slower. A bit further is Aurach, which is where many Kitzbühel often have their second home. It is home to Game Park and offers some excellent places to shop and take in the local flavors.

If you’re visiting in the winter then Jochberg is another must-stop place to try different ski trails, plus its first-rate snowshoe paths. You haven’t really experienced winter in the region until you hit both Kitzbühel and Jochberg.

And if you’re looking for even more to explore, the Austrian cities of Innsbruck and Salzburg are each just over an hour away by car, while Munich, over the border in Germany, is just 80 miles to the north.
