Paphos has a bus which is available for use by travelers.  It is a generally convenient method of getting around, and it is certainly inexpensive, but visitors are forewarned that riding the bus in Paphos requires some patience on their part.  For one thing, the bus in Paphos does not run on a set schedule.  Additionally, there are only a certain number of routes, so the bus is great for getting to certain major tourist destinations but may be a hassle for travelers trying to see some of the more off-the-beaten-path locations in the area. Check timetables carefully; there is a very good frequency in the day, but - certainly in March - the buses stopped running after about 1900.

Correction: August 2008: Bus number 15 going all the way from Water park, Harbor, coral bay  runs till midnight linking all the main attractions in the area.

The fare for the bus can’t be beat, as it costs only seventy cents to ride to any location on the bus.   Tickets are bought upon boarding.   Exact change is required as the driver will not make change.   In addition to being an inexpensive method of getting around Paphos, the bus can be used to get to Coral Bay.   More information on buses is online at http://cyprus.angloinfo.com/informati... .
For visitors interested in really seeing the local transportation of the area, donkey rides are available for short distances.   This is less a mode of reasonable public transportation than a tourist experience.   Information on donkey riding is online at http://www.cyprusguest.com/static.asp... .
