Dining in Limassol is varied and there is something for everyone. There are a lot of English style restaurants close to the town centre and in the tourist area which are cheap and cheerful. You can find Indian and Chinese restaurants also. You can still find authentic Cypriot restaurants where you can have meze which can last all evening. The Port area is being redeveloped and there are some trendy restaurants there. There are some very nice restaurants which are based in the converted carob mill, Artima is one of them and there is a greek restaurant. There is outdoor seating around the castle and the whole area now has a really good buzz about it. There is also a nice fish restaurant in this area. The Aliada is a bit more difficult to find up in the heart of the old town but is certainly worth finding as it is set in a beautiful old building and gardens and is very traditional.
For a sophisticated ambiance and outstanding "Cypriot-fusion" cuisine made from the freshest ingredients, head to Veni Vidi Vici, near the old market. Opened in 2008, restaurateur Sula Demetriou has created an upscale dining experience that joins her exquisite eye for detail with an impeccable palate that will keep you coming back again and again. At present, you will find few tourists here, unless they've been brought by local foodies. Specialities include filet of sea bass and wild mushroom risotto. There's a good wine selection and full bar.
If you are interested to visit areas where local people spend their time you can't miss the Rio Bravo Saloon that is always packed! it is a casual, yet quality place thanks to its owner that for ten years is preparing the mexican food such as Tackos, Fajitas, Burritos. But the most famous is there Margaritas... Lemon, strawberry or Golden!
For quality food and relaxation the new Prime SteakHouse is fantastic! Situated in the tourist area close to the 5 star hotels Apollonia and Londa.They have a variety of steaks, fish and poultries. Chef George Bell, a partner, is very well known for his ability to care and age the meat, cook it and especially adding flavors and sauces. He even has his own private secret garden with herbs that he use. Price is not expensive but quality is five stars!
In the Amathus area near the Four Seasons hotel there are three or four very good restaurants, Mamas which is Cypriot/International. Il Sapore is a popular Italian restaurant which is of a good standard. The Venezia is very good value for money and the owner is charming and works extremely hard to make sure his customers are happy. Danai is a traditional Cypriot taverna and is very good and has retained its Cypriot charm. The other restaurants in this area are fairly run of the mill but if you are just looking for basic food then they are fine.
Terra Mare further along opposite the Grand Resort Hotel is an International Restaurant which serves four courses including soup, buffet and dessert for the price of your main course. If you are looking for a more expensive special meal this restaurant is excellent. Also near the Grand Resort Hotel and Elias Kanika Hotel traffic lights, on the slip road going- up to the motorway you will find a good value restaurant and personalized service at Santana Restaurant. It is a Fusion Cuisine featuring House Specialities Cypriot and from native South America, with a Latin Menu and Cyprus Mezze with "fresh from the garden" salads and dips and a variety of meat and fresh fish dishes, as well as the finest steaks. Claudia and Modestos, your hosts, are the people behind the words "hospitality", they are so welcoming. It's like going to their home when you go to it there. Highly recommend their King Prawns! Established since 1990, it's the oldest restaurant in the east end region of Limassol.
All in all you should be able to find what ever it is that you are looking for in Limassol and new restaurants and cafes are springing up all the time.
