Pannonia, Runeberginkatu 60,Töölö -
Pannonia is a cozy little Hungarian restaurant founded in 1994. The restaurant is located at the busy intersection of Mannerheimintie and Runeberginkatu, right across the Opera house. Pannonia offers a variety of Hungarian food, but also popular continental dishes such as Wienerschnitzel and peppersteak. Pannonia can be reached at (09) 490 742.
Kuurna, Meritullinkatu 6, Kruununhaka -Perhaps one of the hottest restaurants in Helsinki. Make sure you book 3 weeks in advance (you can find the number for reservations at http://www.kuurna.fi), because it's only open four days a week. Great for spotting local celebs!
Kynsilaukka is a local favorite- with "eclectic" fare ranging from crepes to bouillabaise.
Farouge is an upscale Lebanese restaurant not far off the Esplanaden. Serving up traditional and unique Middle Eastern dishes, this restaurant caters to all taste buds in a beautiful, well-appointed atmosphere. This is not your typical 'cheap' Middle Eastern fast food/take away joint, but a truly lovely dining experience. Mai Thai is a small, cozy authentic Thai restaurant near the Kampii and Forum shopping centres. It's very popular with the locals and fills up quite quickly so book a table in advance. Mai Thai is located at Annankatu 31-33, and can be reached at 09.685.6850.
Lappi is a Finnish theme restaurant, quite touristy but worth a visit.
Salve is a restaurant with a very local feel, serves good quality hearty food at reasonable prices. The restaurant is in the East Harbour area (Tram 6) and well worth a visit.
